
BTC Chief reviews developmental works in Kokrajhar; stresses on timely completion and accountability
BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary today chaired a high-level departmental review meeting at the Conference Hall of the BTC Secretariat, Kokrajhar, to assess the progress of ongoing developmental schemes and infrastructure projects in Kokrajhar district, with a focus on ensuring their timely completion, quality execution and transparency.
The meeting began with a welcome address by Karmadev Brahma, Secretary, BTC, and was attended by MLAs Rupam Ray, Ashraful Islam Sheikh, Sabharam Basumatary; MCLA Dhaneswar Goyary, Antaj Ali, Jubiraj Basumatary and Azamul Hoque; Executive Members Derhasat Basumatary, Rabiram Narzary, Mrityunjay Narzary and Prakash Basumatary, along with Secretaries and senior officials of various departments.
The review covered the performance of the Public Works Department (Roads), Public Works Department (Buildings), Panchayat and Rural Development Department and the Municipal Board, besides the implementation of works under the 15th and 6th State Finance Commissions. Progress of major Central and State Government schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G), MGNREGA, National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Asom Mala, RIDF-XXIX, Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), Deen Dayal Skill Training initiatives, urban development projects, progress of mini stadiums, skill centres; Self-Help Group activities among others were reviewed.
During the meeting, the BTC Chief directed the concerned departments to remove bottlenecks affecting project implementation, adhere to fixed timelines and maintain accountability at every stage of execution. He stressed that development works must be completed with quality and transparency on time to strengthen public infrastructure and improve service delivery for the people of the region.
Chief Mohilary further informed that surprise inspections would be conducted based on the progress presented during the meeting and instructed departments to expedite incomplete works. He also announced that the next departmental review meeting will be held in September to assess the progress achieved and ensure compliance with the directions issued.
